Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal was born on March 7, 1955. He is a member of the Saudi Royal Family. He is best known for being en entrepreneur and an investor. He got his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and then got his Masters in Social Science from the Menlo College and then the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University respectively. He also holds an honorary PhD. from Exeter.
Al-Waleed started his investment business in 1979 using a loan from his father. He brokered deals with foreign companies and invested heavily in the Saudi banking system. He is best known for his investment in Citicorp. His shares in Citicorp account for roughly half his fortune. He also made numerous investments in big companies such as Motorola, Apple, AOL, and many others.
Other than financial stock, he also has many real estate investments that include a number of hotel chains like the Four Seasons. He also invested in Euro Disney and owns 17% of its shares.
Throughout his life, Al-Waleed has been very active in giving to charities. He is involved with charities in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and even North America.
Also, he has been very active in supporting educational and academic institutions and donating large sums of money to many universities.
